To help in our continuing fight to raise awareness about mercury pollution, Oceana has created a new video featuring three stories about individuals who found that mercury in seafood had a major impact on their lives. A well-known vidoeographer, Hardy Jones, shares his story and introduces us to Matthew Davis, a boy whose basketball skills and schoolwork were affected, and to Rachel Ronn, a mother-to-be, trying to protect her future baby from mercury. Learn how they found out about their mercury poisoning, and what they did about it, by viewing our new video: Mercury, Seafood and You.
Tell Your Grocer - Next time you go shopping, tell your grocer you are concerned about mercury and that you would like them to post signs at the seafood counter. This link has everything you need including a sample letter and a sample sign. You can also use our interactive map to find the nearest store that is posting signs and the nearest one that needs to hear from you.
Send This Video to Your Friends - Share this video with your friends, especially those who are thinking of having kids, or anyone you know who just loves sushi or tuna sandwiches.
Host a House Party - Invite your friends over and share this video. Oceana will send you all the materials you need to host a house party. When you're finished, everyone can stop at the grocery store on their way home and tell their grocers to post signs.
