Erin Handy is the Campaign Organizer for Oceana’s field team in the state of Florida. She has been involved in coastal and ocean conservation in Florida for over 20 years and is proud to be leading Oceana’s field efforts in Florida, especially the campaign against seismic airgun blasting and offshore drilling in the Atlantic.
Before joining Oceana, Erin was the Chair of the Surfrider Foundation, Florida First Coast Chapter where she gained 10 years of experience in campaign management and grassroots organizing. Erin combines her nonprofit experience with expertise from a career in corporate marketing and communication to engage, educate and motivate people to take action on issues that often seem too big for one person to make a difference. Erin’s goal is to encourage people to believe that Margaret Mead was right: “Never doubt that a small group of thoughtful, committed citizens can change the world; indeed, it's the only thing that ever has.”
