Web Producer and Strategist

Oceana, Inc is seeking a Web Producer and Strategist to work closely with the Marketing and Communications web and e-activism teams to produce new digital features for Oceana’s websites, mobile and social media platforms. This person will create web pages, sign-up and donation forms and social media apps to meet Oceana’s goals of increasing web visits, search engine rankings, sign-ups, donations and engagement with campaign material. The producer will be data driven and will be able to generate and analyze reports on e-mail alert performance from Oceana’s CRM, ActionKit, and web stats from Google Analytics reports for Oceana’s website and lead efforts to test and improve said pages based on data. The ideal candidate will have some development ability (with HTML, CSS, Javascript, PHP MySQL, etc) and be comfortable with Adobe creative suite (and able to create web features, video, etc), and be data-curious and conversant with SQL queries, Google analytics experience or experience with other analytics software, Microsoft Office, especially Excel for stats reporting.
Responsibilities include:
- Provide detailed analysis of reports after e-mail alerts from Oceana’s CRM, ActionKit
- Provide detailed analysis of Google Analytics reports for Oceana’s website
- Make technical updates and improvements to Oceana’s website
- Optimize Oceana’s website and e-mail alerts for mobile devices
The successful candidate will have:
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field
- Experience in successfully creating content to drive traffic, conversion on web and social media.
- Technical experience (HTML, CSS, Javascript (especially the jQuery library), PHP and MySQL, comfort with Adobe Creative Suite
- Experience with basic SQL queries, Google analytics experience or experience with other analytics software, Microsoft Office, especially Excel for stats reporting
- Stellar written and verbal communications skills
- Familiarity with the principles of search engine optimization (SEO.)
- Excellent organizational and time management skills and ability to effectively manage multiple projects and to take initiative.
- Attention to detail, strong follow-through, and the demonstrated ability to meet deadlines.
- Excellent interpersonal skills.
