Campaign Organizer, Climate and Energy Campaign
Washington, DC, USA
I am a born and raised Southwest Floridian lucky enough to grow up with the Gulf of Mexico to my left and Everglades to my right. Growing up, the ocean was a way of life. I was scuba diving and fishing before I could even ride a bike!
During college I recognized that one of our biggest challenges in protecting the oceans was educating the public on how climate change is affecting the chemistry of our oceans. I decided to dedicate my career toward working with communities to get our elected officials to make the right choices on climate and energy issues.
As I graduated college the Deepwater Horizon disaster was just beginning and my fear of oil washing up on our shores in South Florida motivated me to take a position with Oceana’s Climate & Energy campaign based out of Miami. Two years later, I’m working out of our office in Washington D.C. and continuing my work as an organizer to ban offshore drilling and promote offshore wind power throughout the entire United States.
