Needless Cruise Pollution: Passengers Want Sewage Dumping Stopped

According to a survey conducted by Oceana, cruise ship customers believe environmental protections are in place and mistakenly believe that sewage from cruise ships is stored until the ships return to shore. When educated about the laws that govern sewage, cruise customers overwhelmingly want stronger laws. Nearly three quarters (72 percent) believe that untreated sewage should not be dumped into the ocean anywhere, no matter how far from shore.
