Oceana on-the-water expeditions have resulted in multiple campaign victories. Since 2005, the Oceana Ranger catamaran has crossed the Pacific, Caribbean, Atlantic, Mediterranean and the Bay of Biscay. In 2008 MarViva Med joined Ranger in the Mediterranean, and teams from Chile visited the pristine waters of Patagonia and the Juan Fernandez Islands. The resulting photo and video documentation of rare species, as well as documentation of illegal fishing, provides further evidence to protect vulnerable marine species and habitats.
On the water to document species and habitats, monitor illegal and irresponsible fishing and propose new protected areas.
