SeaChange Summer Party
The SeaChange Summer party is an annual Orange County event recognizing the sea’s importance and honoring those who are actively helping to preserve its habitats and wildlife.
In August 2013, approximately 400 guests attended Oceana’s sixth annual SeaChange Summer Party in Laguna Beach, California, which raised more than $1 million for ocean conservation.
The evening’s honored guests were Alexandra Cousteau, granddaughter of ocean exploration legend Jacques-Yves Cousteau, and James L. Connaughton, former environmental adviser to George W. Bush. After speeches from Cousteau and Connaughton, guests enjoyed a private concert by singer-songwriter Sheryl Crow. Other attendees included Master of Ceremonies Dennis Haysbert, Angela Kinsey, Rachael Harris, Emily Osment, Anna Torv, Anne Heche, Oscar Nunez, Ted Danson, and Mary Steenburgen.
The fifth annual SeaChange event took place in July 2012 and honored Academy Award-winner Morgan Freeman and actor Jeff Goldblum. Previous SeaChange honorees include Harrison Ford, actor and board member of Conservation International; Sam Waterston, actor and Oceana board member; actress Diane Lane; actor Josh Brolin; actor Jeff Bridges; actor Pierce Brosnan, and internationally-acclaimed sustainability entrepreneur John Picard.
Orange Coast Magazine named the SeaChange Summer Party one of the top five “Must Attend” events in Orange County.
