TUNA
Some tuna can swim nearly 50 mph, but that’s still not fast enough to out-swim mercury contamination, which seeps into its habitat from industrial pollution. Some of the larger species of these ocean-dwelling fish, such as the blue fin, have the ability to raise their blood temperature, allowing them to maintain that high speed in colder water. Blue fin are an unfortunately popular fish, so popular that many experts now believe they could now be endangered with extinction.
