Oceana seeks an intern who can start in May 2019 to work closely with Oceana’s federal policy team in support of Oceana’s U.S. campaigns. This is a paid internship. Oceana prefers that interns be available to work 40 hours a week for 3-6 months in the Washington, D.C. headquarters. Oceana accepts interns who receive academic credit for their internship. Both recent graduates and graduate students are encouraged to apply.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities
The intern will assist our advocacy and government relations work to stop expanded offshore oil drilling, defend ocean conservation laws, ban trade in shark fins, protect marine mammals, and deter illegal fishing through transparency. The intern will have opportunities to attend congressional hearings, briefings, meetings, and other events and network with environmental advocates.
