Are you looking to make a difference in the world and have a passion for protecting and restoring the abundance of our oceans?  Oceana’s Development Department is looking for a Senior Director, Global Events.  The Senior Director, Global Events is a senior member of Oceana’s fundraising team. The Senior Director manages a portfolio of event donors and prospects and is responsible for the fundraising efforts for the events team, including Oceana’s annual SeaChange Summer Party, Los Angeles Event, the New York Gala and all other events domestically and internationally. The Senior Director also oversees receptions in conjunction with Oceana’s Board of Directors meetings and several high-touch cultivation events throughout the year. The incumbent manages the Director of West Coast Events, Manager Donor Relations & Events, and Events Development Associate who assist on all development initiatives and events.

At Oceana, “everyone is a fundraiser,” so the Senior Director will have extensive interaction with other areas of the organization, including Executive leadership, Science & Strategy, Finance and Accounting, Marketing and Communications, and country leaders throughout the world. The incumbent will work closely with the Vice President of Global Development, Senior Director for Marketing and Communications, Chief Executive Officer, and President to identify and steward event leadership, donors, and corporate sponsors. This position reports to the Vice President of Global Development and it can be based NYC or DC area.
