Director, Global Fisheries Transparency Coalition
Are you an experienced advocate for our oceans, skilled in collaboration and communication to secure advancements in transparent maritime governance? Come join the team helping to build and launch a global coalition of civil society partners seeking to reform the national and international policies that manage our fisheries and conserve our seas.
As Director, you will be primarily responsible for co-developing and implementing the work of the coalition, leading a team of three additional staff and reporting to a steering committee co-chaired by Oceana and the Environmental Justice Foundation. You will advise and support the membership, as well as serve as a lead spokesperson for the group.
Ideally, you bring experience in fisheries and/or marine policy, as well as policy-change campaigning and fundraising. You have international experience, working cross-culturally with multiple partners in delivering on a set of shared objectives. Strong candidates will have real-world experience in multi-national fisheries and/or marine conservation fora such as the UN, CITES, CBD, and/or RFMOs.
The director, and the coalition staff which report to them, will join Oceana as one of our many dedicated professionals working to protect our oceans, reduce the impacts of climate change, feed a growing global population, and support the livelihoods of fishers, their families, and their communities. Founded in 2001, Oceana is the world’s largest nonprofit organization focused solely on restoring the resilience and abundance of the ocean.
