Samantha joined Oceana’s Grants and Budgets team in April 2026.

Samantha grew up in San Francisco, where she developed her love for the ocean by tidepooling in the Bay and playing in its (often frigid) waves after school. She later moved to warmer waters and earned her bachelor’s degree in Geography & Environmental Studies from UCLA. Prior to joining Oceana, Samantha specialized in implementing climate and nature conservation programs globally for the U.S. Agency for International Development. She brings experience supporting environmental initiatives around the world and is excited to contribute to Oceana’s mission! Beyond grants, Samantha is an avid traveler, dog-lover, amateur baker, and swimmer.
