Senior Director of Institutional Giving
Oceana Staff
Ailey joined Oceana in 2023 as Senior Director of Institutional Partnerships with over 16 years in the non-profit sector, largely spent fundraising.
Prior to Oceana, Ailey served as a Senior Development Officer of Foundation Relations at WWF where she focused on fundraising with private foundations in support of WWF’s Oceans program. During her 13 years at WWF, Ailey raised funds for a variety of programs and supported the Africa & Madagascar team as a program associate. Ailey’s previous experiences include working in the offices of several Congressmen in the U.S. House of Representatives, the Cheetah Conservation Fund (CCF) in Namibia, and the CCF U.S. chapter.
A love of the ocean was ingrained in Ailey from an early age. She grew up on a small, square mile peninsula off the coast of Massachusetts where she spent her childhood exploring the tide pools year-round. Her childhood experiences led her to also spend a summer as an intern at the University of New England’s Marine Mammal Rehabilitation Center and two summers at marine biology summer camp in Acadia National Park.
Ailey holds a Bachelor of Science in Neuroscience from Dickinson College and a Master of Science in Environmental Science & Assessment from American University. She was a fellow of Emerging Wildlife Conservation Leaders, a training program for early career conservation professionals. In her spare time, Ailey likes to spend time with her husband and two children. She enjoys traveling, attending concerts, reading, and drinking good coffee.
