Direct Response Specialist

Do you want to leave your mark on the world and build support for protecting and restoring the world’s oceans? Oceana is seeking a Direct Response Specialist to provide support to Ocean’s multichannel direct response marketing program, with a focus on expanding the organization’s outreach and retention of supporters.

The Specialist will ensure Oceana’s “Wavemakers” or grassroots supporters receive excellent care, including sending acknowledgments to offline donors, outreach to lapsed one-time and monthly donors, and membership services requests. This position will also gain experience and provide support to the organization’s low-dollar fundraising and advocacy campaigns, including but not limited to drafting and editing content for email, SMS, direct mail, website, and various social media channels.

Our digital team works every day to be more effective and creative at online fundraising and advocacy. The Specialist takes part in digital team meetings and strategy sessions, contributing their ideas and perspective. This full-time position is based in Washington, DC and reports to the Senior Manager of Direct Response Fundraising.

The salary range for this position is $60,000 to $67,000 annually.

Oceana’s US offices have operated on a hybrid schedule and staff have been required to work from their assigned office on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday.
