Multimedia Content Analyst

Oceana in Brazil is based in Brasília and works with governments, society, the private sector, NGOs, and scientists to pursue improvement in public policy regulating fishing activities, combating marine pollution, and protecting habitats.

Under our structure, the Multimedia Content and Visual Communication Analyst will create graphic pieces, presentations and audiovisual materials in line with our guidelines and Oceana’s visual identity to strengthen the institutional image and the success of our campaigns.

Responsibilities and Duties

  • To contribute to create Oceana’s communication campaigns by producing artwork and graphic materials, including pieces for social media, videos, folders, banners, posters, brochures, infographics, presentations and scientific publications, among others.
  • To develop visual identity for communication actions and campaigns, understanding targets, goals and specific strategies of each task and including the creation of visual concepts, a color palette appropriate to the messages, logos and possible applications in different materials – in line with Oceana’s international visual identity.
  • To produce audiovisual materials – from script writing to video editing for institutional purposes and to support Oceana’s campaigns.
  • Occasionally, to hire and guide talent in the audiovisual area for specific tasks.
  • To update and maintain the website in accordance with Oceana’s guidelines, visual standards, and strategies.
  • To provide creative and technical support in the coverage of live events.
  • To support the organization’s several communications demands to strengthen the institutional image and engage the target audience of Oceana’s campaigns in Brazil.
  • To work together with the science, advocacy, and public policy team and the Board to foster and meet Oceana’s priorities and strategic objectives in Brazil.

Required Profile and Skills

  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience in the market of communications and marketing, producing audiovisual content and graphic pieces for communication campaigns.
  • Knowledge and experience in graphic design and video editing software.
  • Creativity, attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
  • Prior knowledge of the WordPress platform and its plugins.
  • Knowledge of the English language, with good written and oral communication skills.
  • Time management skills, responding well to tight schedules and deadlines.
  • Good interpersonal skills.
  • Creative, proactive and collaborative profile, open to suggestions and feedback from the team.
  • Easy when dealing and accepting sudden changes in course.
  • Excellent organization skills, attention to detail, and sense of responsibility.
  • Availability for national and international travel.
  • Availability to be part of an international, multicultural, multidisciplinary and dynamic team.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with various profiles of Oceana’s target audiences.

Required Academic Background and Work Experience:

  • Degree in Graphic Design, Visual Communication Design, Multimedia Production, Audiovisual Production or related areas.
  • Sound knowledge of graphic design software (Photoshop, Illustrator, CorelDRAW, InDesign, Adobe Creative Suite, etc.) and presentation tools such as PowerPoint and Canva.
  • Experience in video editing using tools such as Adobe Premiere, Final Cut Pro or similar.
  • Previous submission of portfolio showing skills in online and offline visual communication and audiovisual content.

Other Requirements Considered Important:

  • Knowledge of SEO techniques.
  • Knowledge of digital marketing.
  • Knowledge of storytelling.
  • Experience with management and production of content for social media.
  • Knowledge of topics and agendas related to sustainability, the environment and the oceans.
