Senior Manager, Internal and Executive Communications

Do you want to leave your mark on the world and help protect and restore the oceans? Oceana is seeking a Senior Manager for Internal and Executive Communications to shape Oceana’s communications strategies among key audiences including staff, donors, and decision-makers.

Key responsibilities include developing and executing an internal communications strategy that drives employee engagement, creating internal messaging in close collaboration with key staff that reinforces Oceana’s mission and core values, and producing high-impact communications to enhance the CEO’s thought leadership.

The ideal candidate is a communications professional with a proven track record of supporting high-level executives and building internal communications strategies. This role demands a strong communicator with excellent writing, editing, and interpersonal skills. They must be highly organized with a keen attention to detail. They are a creative thinker with a problem-solving mindset and a strong collaborator who can thrive on a fast-paced team under tight deadlines.

This position is part of a dynamic communications team in Oceana’s Global Marketing and Communications Department.

This is a full-time position based in Washington, DC. At least seven years of professional experience is required.

The salary range for this position is $85,000 to $95,000 annually.

Oceana’s U.S. offices have operated on a hybrid schedule and staff have been required to work from their assigned office on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday. With agreement between the employee and their supervisor, the employee may work from remotely Monday and Friday.
