Ademilson Zamboni, Ph.D.

Bringing his background as a Bachelor in Oceanography, with MS and Ph.D. degrees in Environmental Engineering, Ademilson joined Oceana in December 2017 and became its new leader for Brazil in February 2018.

Previously, from 1995 to 2000, he was a professor and researcher at the Federal University of Rio Grande on marine pollution and ecotoxicology. In 2001, in the Brazilian Ministry of Environment, he held a position at the National Coastal and Marine Management Program, working with public policies, coastal planning, and leading large-scale projects on the Brazilian coast for eight years. In 2008, Zamboni started a new career in a third sector in a prominent Brazilian non-profit organization focused on energy and climate change, until reconnecting with ocean protection and joining Oceana’s team.
