Daniel is a lawyer by training, a seasoned advocate, and communicator.

Prior to joining Oceana, Daniel served as an elected representative in Peru’s Congress, championing important causes including the environment, affordable housing, and other issues. Previously, he was the head of social communications for the Peruvian government, a position in which he led a large team charged with both communicating the government’s work effectively to the people of Peru and coordinating communications for the different federal ministries. He was also a communications advisor to the Prime Minister.

Before working in public issues, Daniel co-founded Copiloto, a communications agency dedicated to social impact issues.
