Megan Jordan

Senior Communications Manager

Oceana Staff

Megan Jordan has helped drive Oceana’s U.S. campaign wins since joining the organization in 2016.

She helped launch new campaigns and tech products at Oceana and uses strategic communications to secure major victories and protections for the oceans. As the communications director for three years, she led the U.S. and international communications teams, steered high-impact global media moments, and supported numerous U.S. wins before returning to her senior communications manager role due to increased family obligations. She continues to position Oceana’s U.S. campaigns at the forefront — leading the public conversation through integrated communications and campaign leadership.

Megan has a background in marketing and communications in corporate, start-up, and non-profit organizations. She has managed international public relations campaigns, product launches, creative marketing strategy, crisis communications as well as strategic internal/external communications.

She was named one of Arlington County’s “40 Under 40” professionals, which recognizes emerging leaders under the age of 40 for their personal and professional impact on the Washington, D.C. region. Megan earned her master’s degree from Georgetown University in Corporate Communications and Public Relations. She graduated magna cum laude from the University of Mary Washington with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Spanish and business administration with a concentration in marketing.

Megan participated in Toastmasters for many years, where she led her local chapter as club president and vice president of public relations, and earned several leadership and communication certifications and awards. Megan always enjoys traveling, hiking, and visiting beautiful beaches with her family!
