Yoalli Quetzalli Hernández Díaz

Master of Sciences

I am Quetzalli Hernández I collaborate in the Multidisciplinary Teaching and Research Unit of the Sisal Unit in Yucatan of the Faculty of Sciences of the National Autonomous University of Mexico.

I specialize in analyzing marine benthic biodiversity and am passionate about the taxonomy and systematics of echinoderms. I am excited to be part of Project Alacranes because it is a privilege to investigate Mexican reefs as important and little studies as Bajos del Norte.

In this expedition I coordinate the benthic biodiversity team that will carry out the inventory of four important groups of marine invertebrates: molluscs, crustaceans, scleractinian corals and echinoderms. We will also monitor the Atlantic and Gulf Rapid Reef Assessment to have standardized information that will allow us to estimate the health status of the reef ecosystem.
