Ted Danson, award-winning actor, longtime ocean advocate and Oceana board member, will testify before the House Committe on Natural Resources about the "Environmental and Commercial Perspectives on Offshore Drilling" Wednesday morning, February 11. In his testimony, Danson will describe the chief threats of offshore drilling, including the impacts of the approximately 120 million gallons of oil that are discharged into the world's oceans each year.

For more than 20 years, Danson has worked to protect the oceans. Danson co-founded the American Oceans Campaign (AOC), which merged with other groups in 2001 to form Oceana, the largest international organization focused solely on protecting and restoring the world's oceans.
