Monday night, guests including Ted Danson, Mary Steenburgen, Sam Waterston, Dean Norris, Bridget Norris, Dylan McDermott, Bill Murray, Brooklyn Decker, Kelly Lynch, Anjelica Huston, Paul Scheer, June Diane Raphael, Jackson Browne, Mitch Glazer, Sharon Lawrence, Ed Begley Jr., Peter and Tara Guber, and Tony Thomopoulos attended an exclusive concert by Don Henley and friends Jackson Browne and Bill Murray in support of Oceana and The Walden Woods Project.
Oceana is the largest international advocacy organization focused solely on ocean conservation. The Walden Woods Project, founded by Don Henley, preserves the iconic landscape that inspired Henry David Thoreau, father of the modern conservation movement, and utilizes Thoreau’s land and literature to foster the next generation of environmental stewards.
Hosted by Oceana Board President Keith Addis and wife Keri Selig at their private residence in the Hollywood Hills with Co-Presenting Partners Ralph Lauren and Vanity Fair, the event raised money for the two organizations.
The guests enjoyed specially crafted Patron cocktails, Patron popsicles, hors d’oeuvres (sweet potato fries, ceviche, and grilled cheese) and late night flatbreads and desserts (churros and cheesecake).
“Don Henley has been a leader in the fight to protect our environment,” said Keith Addis. “From his support of Oceana to founding The Walden Woods Project, he’s consistently lent his voice to the cause of conservation. I want to thank Don Henley — and everyone who came tonight — for helping Oceana in our mission to save the oceans and feed the world.”
“Together, we can end destructive fishing practices and shortsighted policies that threaten the health of our oceans,” said Oceana CEO Andy Sharpless. “Oceana is winning victories that help restore ocean ecosystems, providing a source of food and jobs for hundreds of millions of people around the world while protecting ocean life. Tonight was a wonderful celebration of all that we have accomplished and an opportunity to champion Oceana’s continued efforts. I want to thank everyone for their support.”
Oceana is the largest international advocacy organization dedicated solely to ocean conservation. Oceana is rebuilding abundant and biodiverse oceans by winning science-based policies in countries that control one third of the world’s wild fish catch. With nearly 200 victories that stop overfishing, habitat destruction, pollution and killing of threatened species like turtles and sharks, Oceana’s campaigns are delivering results. A restored ocean means that one billion people can enjoy a healthy seafood meal, every day, forever. Together, we can save the oceans and help feed the world. Visit www.oceana.org to learn more.
