A Concert for Our Oceans

 

On September 28, 2015, multi-hyphenate Seth MacFarlane hosted A Concert for Our Oceans, a groundbreaking musical fundraiser for Oceana. The event took place at the Wallis Annenberg Center for the Performing Arts in Beverly Hills, California.

Following a cocktail reception, MacFarlane took the stage along with the 50-member Blue Oceans Orchestra. MacFarlane sang and emceed a musical program featuring performances by Kesha,  Dwight Yoakam, Kristen Bell, Kathrine McPhee, Mary Steenburgen, Amanda Seyfried, Sharon Lawrence, Rebekah Del Rio, and Liz Gillies. Proceeds from the event will support Oceana’s Save the Oceans, Feed the World campaign, which  which aims to restore the biodiversity and abundance of the world’s oceans to support a growing global population.

Musical highlights of the evening included MacFarlane singing “I Get Along Without You Very Well,” Kristen Bell singing “Do You Want to Build a Snowman” (from Disney’s Frozen), Dwight Yoakum singing “Fly Me to the Moon,” Katharine McPhee singing “Heart Shaped Wreckage,” Mary Steenburgen singing “I Choose You,” Amanda Seyfried singing “When It Don’t Come Easy,” and Kesha singing “God Only Knows.”

Other attendees included Diane Lane, Oceana board member Sam Waterston, January Jones,  Laura Dern, Nolan Gould, Ed Begley, Jr., Oscar Nunez, Thomas Sadoski and Eion Bailey.
